The Bed Bath and Beyond ‘Beyond’ Section Isn’t Gone—Here’s How to Find It Now

Everything must go. With Bed Bath and Beyond doing the closeout sales, we are checking out the liquidation and seeing that everything must go. They have executed a full chain-wide liquidation following their Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, resulting in the closure of all remaining physical locations throughout the United States.

This includes 120 Buy Buy Baby stores, and these aren’t including the stores that they already closed in the past couple years ago. Even though the store is closing out, everything is still pretty much in the order like how they normally are, even if everything is just everywhere pretty much.

It is really sad to see this company actually go. I loved the concept that Bed Bath and Beyond always had, and it was an honor to work with them. I admire how they display items and stalk the shelves.

The brand has since been acquired by Overstock.com, which rebranded itself to keep the Bed Bath and Beyond name alive as an online-only retailer. Hopefully, we will see them in the future like we see Toys R Us come back; fortunately, their legacy continues in the digital space.

Liquidation Sales and Yellow Tags

The liquidation sales mean that everything must go. They have signs to help you with the price points, showing an additional 20% off. You’ll see some tags with the yellow markings showing the lowest selling price. For example, if it was 80 dollars, it’s now 64 dollars. They are not offering the 20% off coupon of any type right now. This explains why they have additional 20% going off the price points that they have marked.

Bed Bath and Beyond Kitchen Gadget Wall Liquidation

The store is well organized. This was a store where they had ideas on how to stock and how to display. Looking through the whole store, nothing is in particular order, so it’s not like how we used to walk into Bed Bath and Beyond and they had their cookware section neatly displayed. The bedding department, the housewares department, the bath department—everything is just everywhere pretty much.

The Kitchen Gadget Area: Lost in the Spatulas

The kitchen gadget area was one of the areas I loved getting lost in. It is still the way that we imagined Bed Bath and Beyond being, which is pretty sad seeing them going. Look at how gorgeous this wall is; there are so many gadgets.

In this area, you will find:

  • Spatulas and mixing spoons
  • Runners and amendments
  • Chip clips
  • Mixing spoons and kitchen tools

This section still looks well organized. It’s a bit of a bittersweet day seeing these items marked down. If you are looking for specific kitchen tools, they still have a lot of products here that are great for wedding gifts or bridal shower gifts.

Appliances and Keurig Machines

The appliance area has a few things in stock, plus lamps and stuff. They have some decent deals here, though the price points are still a little high in my opinion. They have some of the Keurig machines on sale—all the Keurigs that go with the little pods. You can see the price points on these machines, and you also can’t forget the pods themselves, which have 20% off of them.

Keurig machines and appliances on sale

If you have a wedding coming up or a baby shower coming up, these appliances are incredible deals. If you’ve been shopping for these for a long time, you might not feel you age when you see how much the technology has changed in these Keurig machines.

The ‘Beyond’ Section: Buy Buy Baby Arrivals

What is new and different is that they actually brought in a lot of stuff from Buy Buy Baby. When I did work for them, we didn’t have baby products like this in stock. We could order it for you, but we didn’t actually carry a lot of baby stuff. Now, they have tons of products in stock:

  • Car seats and car seat bases
  • Walkers, bouncers, and swing bouncers
  • High chairs and baby bags
  • A Cocoa Melon toddler bed
  • Walkers and Step 2 children’s toys

They brought in a lot of clothing like onesies, socks, mittens, and hand mittens. I’ve seen one onesie that says “I’m the reason you’re late,” which was pretty funny. They have Paw Patrol toys and children’s toys by Step 2. Seeing these toys might make you wonder about dalmatians and other classic children’s characters.

Bedding, Rugs, and the Ugg Collection

One of my favorite brands is Ugg. They have tons of Ugg comforters and Ugg blankets. Ugg blankets are definitely in stock, but they still want like 120 dollars when before I was only paying 60 to 80 dollars for these. They also have Ugg backrest pillows.

The bedding section also includes:

  • Duvets and down comforters
  • Quilts, blankets, and throws
  • Duvet covers at 50% off (some were like 20 dollars)
  • Children’s bedding, though not a wide selection
  • A lot of pillows in stock at 20% off

The rug section is also quite large. They have some beautiful rugs, but we have seen rugs like this at Ross for a way better price point. If I’m not mistaken, they’re almost identical to Ross.

Home Decor and Furniture Finds

The furniture area used to be fully stocked with really pretty pictures, but it is like a bittersweet day because a lot of stuff has been cleared out. They still have a lot of mirrors in stock and all kinds of different furniture pieces.

You can find:

  • Patio furniture down to 40 dollars
  • Beautiful mirrors and pictures
  • Fire pits that are so beautiful
  • Garland for 15 dollars (Christmas stuff is around the corner!)
  • 8 by 8 picture frames going for 44 dollars
Home decor and furniture liquidation

They also have some stuff that has been like past returns marked down. Things that didn’t sell are here, but the price points on them are still expensive to me; I just wasn’t amused by some of the markdowns. For example, some pajama pants were still 23 dollars at the sale price.

Bath and Personal Care Sections

The bath section has all the bath accessories like soap dishes, toys, and knickknacks. They have:

  • Soap dishes and novelty items
  • Bathroom rugs and bath towels for 15 dollars
  • Personal care items like vanity mirrors
  • Special combs and foot scrubs
  • Foot baths and massaging chairs
  • Socks and undershirts

A lot of this stuff was stuff that they previously just carried in the store. You can tell a lot of the items came from their warehouses and they sent them to the stores to be sold off.

Important Store Closing Information

There is some information that you need to know about Bed Bath and Beyond while they are closing out. If you do have any Bed Bath and Beyond gift cards, you can’t use them as of May 8th. They stopped letting you use their gift cards then. I don’t know if you could sell them at one of those retail places that will take cash for gift cards.

Also, you can still order products online from them as of now, but you cannot return any products to them. All sales are final; there are no returns. If it doesn’t work out for you, maybe donate it, give it to somebody, or re-gift it.

The last day that Bed Bath and Beyond is going to be open is officially set for the end of July 2023, which marked the final conclusion of their brick-and-mortar operations. I am excited to see if they are going to go way, way cheaper as that date approaches. Right now, it is mostly 20% off, and you see a couple of things at 50% off, but not much.

I hope you guys get a chance to check out Bed Bath and Beyond before they officially close and be safe during this time. Have a blessed and awesome day.
